During the summer following his high school graduation, Dale made a trip to northwestern New Mexico to visit a young lady with whom he had been corresponding. As he was traveling home, he had a near accident that caused him to reconsider the path he had chosen for his life. Upon returning home, he began to pray for divine direction for his future and began to sense that God was calling him to enter the ministry.
After discussing this with his parents, he made a decision to attend Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) to begin preparation for future ministry. His time at SAGU opened new possibilities, not only in ministry but also in music and voice. His studies included Bible, theology, music theory, and vocal training. He made lifelong friends, and developed relationships there that have guided his life into the present.
During his first year at SAGU, Dale became a member of a concert male chorus, the Men of Southwestern. They traveled extensively on weekends during the school term. The following summer, they traveled over 21,000 miles through 26 states representing SAGU, and sang at an evening session of the Assemblies of God General Council in Portland, Oregon. The following two years, he was a member of SAGU’s traveling concert choir, the Harvester Choir.
Dale was ordained as a minister in 1966. He pursued full time ministry and served as a pastor, associate pastor, minister of music, worship leader and musician. As an evangelist, he conducted over 250 evangelistic crusades in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He also served three years as Director of Campus Ministries for the state of New Mexico for a major church denomination. Dale has served as senior pastor or associate pastor of churches in Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, California and Nevada.
